Finding glamour and decadence in the glummest of suburban trappings – Worthing and cigarette ends stuck in our mind – they accompany their threepenny operas with suitably down-at-heel keyboards and guitar. The sound would certainly benefit from more lavish recordings, but it’s carried by the self-belief, humour and dissolute style that drips from every pore." (NC)
